The Fresh Market recruitment process has been built to ensure that all individuals interested in exploring opportunities within our company have the ability to share their qualifications and skills.
Application Process
All candidates interested in a career with The Fresh Market must complete an on-line job profile and the appropriate assessment. Our process will require that each candidate complete a profile for a current opening of choice or complete a profile for future openings. Should candidates elect to complete a job profile for future openings, the candidate may request to receive e-mail notification from The Fresh Market should an opening become available that matches their interest.
The completion of a job profile may take up to 25 minutes and our assessments are designed to take 20 to 25 minutes dependent upon the position of interest.
Candidates interested in all store operational positions, management positions, and corporate positions can complete the application process online on our website at www.thefreshmarket.com/careers.
Our recommendation is that candidates allow 30 to 45 minutes to complete the entire process. Should you not be able to complete your profile at one sitting you will have the opportunity to save your information and return to your profile to complete at a later date.

Assessment Process
All candidates interested in being selected by The Fresh Market must complete an on-line assessment prior to being considered for any opening within the company. Candidates are asked to set aside at least 20 to 25 minutes to complete the assessment for the opening.
For those candidates interested in an Assistant Store Manager opening there are two separate assessments for the openings. Once candidates have completed the first assessment they may be asked to take a second assessment prior to being considered for the position. The second sitting may take up to 20 to 25 minutes to complete and must be completed off-site.

Job Search
Prior to completing a profile candidates may review all current openings within The Fresh Market or take the opportunity to narrow the job search by state, city, or department. The system is designed with our candidates in mind. We want our candidates’ experience with The Fresh Market to be informative, effective, and efficient.

Required Information for the Job
Candidates will be required to register within the application process. A user name and password will be required and retained in order to best utilize the process.
Once candidates begin the search and the completion of a profile candidates will be asked to supply an e-mail address. We require this information in order to provide candidates an opportunity to receive correspondence from The Fresh Market on current openings and future openings that may be of interest and may match their qualifications.
Candidates will also have the opportunity to attach a resume to the job profile and to modify the job profile as needed.

Candidate Contact Process
Due to the outstanding response we receive from candidates, unfortunately we are unable to personally respond to all candidates. However, should your skills and qualifications match the requirements set forth by The Fresh Market for an opening we will contact you.
All candidates have the opportunity to complete an on-line application and assessment every 90 days. Once an assessment is completed it can not be retaken until 90 days have passed from the initial process.

Internal Candidate Process (Current Employees)

Application Process
The Fresh Market’s Corporate Office will post on the company’s intranet site a listing of all current job openings in the company at Assistant Store Management Level and below. This will be posted in each store in the break room. In addition, all internal candidates have the opportunity to review all current openings on job posting page of our web site.
Should you be interested in a position in another store in your geographic area, you must contact your District Manager. Should you be interested in another position outside your geographic are, contact your Human Resource Coordinator. The Human Resource Coordinator or District Manager will provide all candidates a detailed outline of the process. All candidates must complete an on-line application and appropriate assessment for position the employee wishes to apply for.

Job Search
All internal candidates must have adequate time in their current position, at least six months must have passed since their most recent transfer, their most recent performance review must reflect an overall rating of “meets expectations” or “exceeds expectations” and their current Store Manager and District Manager must provide a positive recommendation based on their performance, qualifications, and skills.

Candidate Contact Process
The hiring Store Manager will contact the current Store Manager to discuss the applicant’s performance and experience. Internal Candidates applying for new store opening will be contacted by a New Store Project Manager.
Should you meet or exceed the requirements set forth by The Fresh Market for the opening of interest the hiring manager will contact you and schedule a formal interview.
Whenever possible The Fresh Market’s preference is to offer promotions and transfers to people from within the company. However, The Fresh Market’s primary goal is to choose the best candidate for each open position.
