Neighbors Serving Neighbors

The Fresh Market is committed to being an active part of the communities where we do business, and our employees enthusiastically support local organizations that are important to the communities and our customers. Our stores are encouraged to make community relations an integral part of their business.

All of our stores provide regular donations to local food banks. In 2013, our stores donated more than $16.4 million worth of food. In 2014, that number surpassed $17.8 million.

Charitable Donations

With a quarterly budget for in-kind donations, our stores engage in a variety of fun and creative fundraising efforts and partnerships with local community organizations.

In 2014, our stores made over $800,000 worth of in-kind donations to support local community organizations.

Because we encourage our stores to partner with local organizations, all donations are coordinated by our stores. Requests for donations such as gift cards and gift baskets for fundraisers and auctions, food for community events and meetings, bottled water and fruit for walks and runs, as well participation in community events should be directed to the store managers. To find your local store, click here.

When requesting a donation, please keep the following guidelines in mind:

  • Provide the store manager with a written request on the nonprofit organization's letterhead, including a valid tax ID number and details regarding the request.
  • Visit your local store in person with the written request at least two weeks before the date the donation is needed.
  • While our stores do their best to accommodate each group's request, please understand that we receive many requests and may not be able to fulfill all of them.
