Glaize Orchards is a family
owned orchard in the Shenandoah Valley, between the Blue Ridge and the Appalachain Mountains in the town of Winchester.
About the Farm
Glaize Orchards is a third generation farm managed by Phil Glaize. Phil's grandfather started the orchard back in the mid-1920s. In the 40s Phil's father & uncle took over and handed operations over to Phil in 1980. The farm will stay in the family with 2 of Phil's 4 children expressing interest in running the farm.
16 varieties of apples are grown on 700 acres and thrive in the soils and climate of Northern Virginia - a region deeply steeped in apple growing tradition since the mid 1800s. Glaize Orchards provides 9 varieties of apples commercially including Red & Golden Delicious, Gala, Fuji, Stayman, Pink Lady, Rome, Gingergold and Granny Smith.
