Roasted Asparagus with Balsamic Browned Butter


  • 40 spears of asparagus, trimmed
  • Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 teaspoons soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon balsamic vinegar


Preheat oven to 400°. Arrange asparagus in a single layer on baking sheet, coat with cooking spray (or oil). Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Bake at 400° for 12 minutes or until tender. Melt butter in small skillet over medium heat. Cook for 3 minutes or until lightly browned, shaking pan occasionally. Remove from heat, stir in soy sauce and vinegar. Drizzle over asparagus, tossing well to coat. Serve immediately.



I add fresh grated Parmesan as the topper. The slight melt gave the recipe some extra zing!

Hands down. Family favorite!

I've been making this asparagus recipe for years! It's simple and so delicious! It's about the only way we make asparagus anymore. (Unless we steam it to cut the calories)
