Savannah Pecan Pie

  • 3 eggs
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup light corn syrup
  • 6 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 2 cups pecan pieces
  • 1 (9") pre-made pie shell, uncooked for deep pie (or 2 (8") for regular pie)

Beat eggs; beat in sugar, salt, corn syrup, and butter. Add pecan pieces; pour into unbaked pie shell(s). Bake at 350° for 50 minutes (for deep pie) or until knife inserted half way between center and edge comes out clean. Cool.

The Best Pecan Pie!

This recipe is the best I've ever had. One tip that I like is using salted butter, because it helps the sweet flavor. I use light Kayro Syrup and the best pecans I can find (usually at a Farmer's Market) and crack them myself. Using the best ingredients makes this recipe stand out above the rest in my opinion.

My Fave

I've made this pie several times, turned out great every time. It is our favorite pecan pie!

needs one simple change

The pie represented in the picture is made from DARK corn syrup. White corn syrup makes a much lighter custard and is not quite as good. You may also substitute brown sugar for part of the granulated sugar.

This is real southern Pecan Pie! Use the 2 - 8" rather then a 9" deep dish....deep dish ain't how this works!
