At The Fresh Market, we want to inspire our guests each day with new flavors, enticing recipes and expertly-crafted dishes. That’s why we have two professional chefs on our team: Chef Scott Rossen and Chef Jarrod Craft.
Both Scott and Jarrod are passionate about delicious food—cooking it, savoring it and sharing it with others. They’ve helped us develop tried-and-true recipes and compelling content about traditional flavors and new food trends alike. We’re excited to have them on board as we continue to share our passion for eating well, every day!
A long-time gastronome, Chef Scott Rossen started his cooking career when he was a freshman in high school and applied to culinary school the following year. After completing an apprenticeship with a local chef and graduating from high school, Scott went on to the Culinary School of Kendall College in Chicago to obtain an associate’s degree in Culinary Arts.
He worked as a sous chef, an executive chef, a certified culinary administrator and general manager for a food services company before finding his way back to cooking delicious food at The Fresh Market. When he’s not hosting a backyard cookout, Scott likes to camp, hike, bike and spend time with his family.
Driven by a passion for spreading joy through delicious food, Chef Jarrod Craft loves to try new flavors and ingredients. His background includes everything from culinary research and development to tech support, although his drive to cook professionally led him back to the culinary world.
Jarrod obtained his Culinary Arts Degree from the Art Institute in Chicago. He loves to cook, of course (right now he’s interested in Korean cuisine, specifically spicy tofu stew) and also enjoys roller skating, working on ideas for video games and eating his way through local restaurants.
