Our Favorite Way To Serve It Up

In this week’s Little Big Meal, we are featuring our recipe for Tacos. Choose from our chicken breast strips, ground sirloin, or plant-based protein simmered in a savory seasoning, served with our Elote corn salad to create a delicious dinner in just 15 minutes. See below for recipe instructions.

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp olive oil*
  • 16 oz chicken breast strips or 16 oz ground sirloin or 10 oz Abbot's Butcher protein of choice
  • 1 pkg (8 oz) Frontera Skillet Sauce
  • 1 pkg taco shells or tortillas
  • Yo Quiero! Guacamole, Salsa, or Queso

Chicken or Beef Tacos

Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

Chicken: Cook, turning occasionally to brown on all sides, 5-7 minutes.

Beef: Cook, breaking up the meat into small pieces with a wooden spoon, until brown with no pink remaining, 6-8 minutes. Drain excess fat if desired.

Abbot’s Butcher plant-based protein: If frozen, defrost before cooking. Cook over medium heat, turning to brown on all sides, 12-14 minutes for chick’n and 8-10 minutes for “beef” or “chorizo.”

Add Frontera Skillet Sauce to the skillet along with the meat. Reduce the heat to medium-low and simmer for 1-2 minutes.

If desired, heat tortillas: Heat a cast-iron skillet over medium and add desired number of tortillas one at a time, about 30 seconds per side. Wrap the tortillas in foil to keep warm.

To serve: Place a tortilla on a plate. Add a spoonful of filling and top with Yo Quiero Guacamole, Salsa or Queso. Repeat as desired. Serve with elote corn salad.
