Directions

Heat unsalted butter in a saucepan or skillet over medium heat until melted. Continue cooking, stirring constantly with a heat-proof rubber spatula, until you see brown flecks appearing in the liquid; the liquid itself should also brown to an amber color. Remove from heat when the butter is a deep golden brown color with a sweet, nutty aroma, about 4-6 minutes.
