
Ingredients
- 1 c milk of choice (dairy, almond, macadamia, oat, etc)
- 1-3 tsp Golden Paste, recipe to follow
- Honey, to taste
Golden Paste:
- ½ c Turmeric powder
- ½ tsp Cardamom
- ½ tsp Nutmeg
- Pinch Clove
- 1 tbsp Cinnamon
- 1 tsp Black pepper
- 1 tsp fresh Ginger, grated
- ¼ c Coconut oil
- 1 c water
Directions
Golden Paste: Add turmeric, cardamom, ginger, nutmeg, clove, cinnamon, and pepper to a small sauce pan. Toast over medium low heat for 1 minute. Add fresh ginger and coconut oil and continue to warm until coconut oil has completely melted. Add water, a ¼ cup at a time. Whisk to combine. The mixture will become a thick paste. Let it cool to room temperature and store in an air tight container for 1-2 weeks.
Golden Milk: In a small pot, warm milk and whisk in golden paste. Sweeten with honey and enjoy warm.
