Hot Sauce Granita

Ingredients

  • 1 c tomato juice
  • 5 tbsp Red Clay Original Hot Sauce
  • 1 lemon, freshly squeezed (about 3 ½ tbsp juice)
  • 2 dozen fresh oysters, shucked

Directions

Combine all ingredients in an 8 by 8-inch baking dish and place in freezer. After 30 minutes, use a fork to scrape up the frozen parts. Return to freezer and continue scraping every 30 minutes until mixture is completely frozen and resembles shaved ice, about 2 hours total.

When ready to serve, drag fork across the surface and scoop the ice into a serving dish or atop fresh oysters. Store any remaining granita in freezer (it will keep for several months).
