Mini Cheeseburger French Rounds

Ingredients

  • 1 lb The Fresh Market ground beef or ground chuck
  • ½ c shredded sharp cheddar
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 pkg The Fresh Market French Rounds or one baguette, sliced and toasted
  • 1 jar dill pickle slices, slices cut in half

Directions

Preheat the oven to 400F.

Mix the beef, cheddar, onion powder and Worcestershire sauce in a bowl by hand. Add kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste. Heat a small sauté pan and cook off a small piece of the meat mixture and taste for seasoning; adjust as necessary.

Spread the French rounds onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or tinfoil. Using a small pallet knife, spatula or butter knife, spread a thin (¼-½ inch) layer of the meat mixture onto each French round, covering the top of the rounds completely.

Bake for 8-10 minutes until meat is cooked through (internal temperature should be 165). Remove from oven and top each French round with a half pickle slice. Serve immediately.
