
Ingredients
- 2 oz Dark Rum, like Goslings
- Juice from 1 lime
- 1 tsp Thanksgiving Simple Syrup*
- Dash of Bitters
- 6 oz Q Ginger Beer
Thanksgiving Syrup:
- 1 c granulated sugar
- 1 c water
- 1"x 4" strip of orange peel
- 3 tbsp fresh ginger, sliced
- 5 star anise
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 4 cloves
- 2 cardamom pods
Directions
Combine rum, lime juice, Thanksgiving simple syrup* and bitters in a shaker over ice. Shake vigorously.
Serve in a Collin's glass over ice and top with Q Ginger Beer. Garnish with dehydrated orange pinwheel and star anise.
Thanksgiving Simple Syrup:
In a small pot, bring water to a simmer. Add granulated sugar and stir until dissolved.
Turn the heat off and immediately add orange peel, ginger, star anise, cinnamon sticks, cloves and cardamom pods.
Let the mixture steep and slowly cool to room temperature. Store in an airtight mason jar for the season.
Chef tip: This is also delicious as a seasonal mixer with Apple Cider and Rum or Vodka and Cranberry juice.
