Local Favorites

Locally Grown, Locally Made, Locally Owned

We strive to nourish our communities with goods made in our communities. That's why we intentionally curate the highest quality products from local growers and producers whose operation are within a 250-mile radius - or a few hours' drive from our stores. We believe that food produced closer to you is better for you and that supporting small businesses can strengthen our communities and create a more sustainable future.

We look for items that are fresh, in-season, unique and delicious. These select products are trusted, known and resonate with our guests.

But it's the people behind the products whose stories we are most passionate about. They turned their passion and dreams into a brand that we are proud to help represent. That pasta sauce you fell in love with started in a mother's home kitchen. The pie that your family has to have every Thanksgiving was a grandmother's recipe passed down through three generations. Now these family favorites and time-honored traditions are yours too.

Our store advocates and the farmers, producers and suppliers who partner with us are working together to expand the concept of community. This is how our local favorites become loved by more people.

Bringing Your Local Favorites To More Communities

From hometown passion to regional favorite, we love helping small businesses grow. By sharing their products in all our stores, we connect guests to the flavors-and the people-that make our communities special.

Dewey's Bakery

Thin and crispy Moravian cookies have been a holiday staple since 1930, when Dewey’s Bakery opened its doors in Winston-Salem, N.C. Although strongly connected to Winston-Salem, Moravian cookies actually originated in the European kingdom of Moravia during the 1700s. They arrived in Winston-Salem via Moravian immigrants who settled there, establishing strong culinary traditions and influences that continue today. Cookie lovers nationwide crave this Moravian specialty — a perfect addition for festive gatherings or impromptu snacking.

Homestead Creamery

Homestead Creamery is the vision of two farmers — Dave Bower and Donnie Montgomery — who dreamed of preserving their family farms and continuing the dairy legacy of Virginia’s Blue Ridge Mountains. They partnered with a few of their local businessmen in Burnt Chimney, Virginia to create a dairy processing plant consisting of a small network of locally-owned dairy farms committed to the health and happiness of their cows and the quality of their products.

WEB Mouth-Party-Local-to-National
Mouth Party Caramels

An old family recipe preserved through four generations has become a means for raising money for cancer research and support services. When Jane Drake Cummings became ill with lymphoma for a second time in 2006, her family launched Mouth Party Caramel to help raise money for cancer research. Made with just five simple ingredients, Mouth Party caramels are free of nuts, soy, trans-fat, high fructose and gluten. Slow cooked in small batches and made to order, the results are pure caramel magic. Perfect for gifts, pairings or snacking, a percentage of each purchase also helps advance cancer research and support services.

WEB The-Fresh-Market-Toffee
Nashville Toffee Company

Dark chocolate and crunchy roasted almonds, plus buttery, sweet toffee. Nashville native George Cohn discovered this addictive combination as a child, when his grandmother sent a batch of dark chocolate almond toffee — handmade by her friend — every year around the holidays. It arrived in a plain white box that George immediately put in the freezer to make it last as long as he could.

A lifelong pursuit to recreate this childhood favorite led to launching the Nashville Toffee Company. Since 2003, it’s been handmade in small batches, with the finest, all-natural ingredients and has become a leader in the world of artisanal toffee.

Southern Supreme Fruitcake

Berta Lou Scott used to have to try to convince people to sample her fruitcakes at tradeshows. Skeptics hesitated, but it didn’t take long to convert them. After 40 years in the fruitcake business, the Scott family doesn’t need to work too hard at convincing folks. Their family business, Southern Supreme Fruitcakes & More in Bear Creek, N.C., sells and ships fruitcakes all over the world. Southern Supreme challenges the notion that fruitcakes aren’t good because Scott’s recipe produces an extremely moist cake that is chock-full of nuts. Her fruitcakes are now a holiday staple and visitors flock to the Bear Creek showroom for its seasonal decorations, free samples and to meet the Scott family.
